By local people, for local people…. and for everyone to enjoy… This is a local internet radio service for Feckenham in North Worcestershire. Our aim is to provide a locally produced radio service to encourage a sense of community in the village of Feckenham and in the surrounding area. Swansbrook also aims to accumulate and curate a library of audio recordings to form a historical record for future generations. The station is entirely voluntarily run and, to date, is entirely self funded. Swansbrook began broadcasting in July 2016…. A team of experienced broadcasters had previously experimented with a couple of week long FM radio stations under the name of WAKE FM. These broadcasts were popular and it was felt worthwhile to explore a more substantial offering. Costs for further FM broadcasts were found to be prohibitive and, after a great deal of research, it was decided to try to establish a continuing service over the internet. Swansbrook went on air with a 2 hour “as live” outside broadcast from Feckenham’s annual fair, The Wake.

2020 Swansbook Radio
Current Service The service now operating is limited only by the availability of personnel. There is a four hour “rotation” of programmes playing continuously 24 hours a day and this is refreshed as and when new programmes become available. Listeners can sign up to an update service to be informed by e-mail of new programmes added to the service. In addition many programmes are now available to play “on demand” or download for listening when required. It is this service which will form the backbone of the historical archive planned by the station. Swansbrook is managed by…. a cooperative committee which agrees on aims, membership and content. The Founders are Stuart Knowles, Paul Furey, Ian Bellion and Kathy Gee supported by Cathy Fisher, Thea Matthews and Phil Chappell. Technical research and management is in the hands of James Vaughton. The station is non-profitmaking.
Join us… Swansbrook is very young - and very small. We’d love to grow into a big strong community radio station serving the whole of North Worcestershire but we can’t do it without help… and that’s where you come in. If you fancy yourself as a reporter, a presenter, a writer or an organiser… in fact if you’d like to help in any way at all… we’d love to hear from you. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll get straight back to you. Great Oaks from little cygnets grow!
Outside broadcast at The Wake Paul Furey (left) on air.

The Best Things in life are FREE But unfortunately licenses to broadcast aren’t! We keep our expenditure to the bare minimum but we do have to pay for the music we play, the software we use and the equipment we break… Please help us keep Swansbrook on the air and keeping Feckenham’s community informed and amused - any amount small or large!
